According to the cabinet decisions, Faculty of Computers and Information was established in Qena with its four departments – computer science, information technology, Information Systems and artificial intelligence to prepare specialists with a high competitive ability as well as scientific and applied knowledge and skills that are appropriate to the changing needs of the labor market. The university has sought to the smart digital transformation in all educational, research and administrative aspects as stated by President of South Valley University Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour. Accordingly, many initiatives were launched at the university and many systems were activated as the electronic payment and postgraduate digitization.
