A Cooperation Protocol between South Valley University and Misr Cement Company – Qena

Prof. Dr Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, and Brigade Staff of War El-Sayed Abdel Fattah Harhour, Chairman of the Directors Board of Misr Cement Company -Qena, signed a cooperation protocol in the presence of Prof. Dr Ahmed Akawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Dr Ahmed Kamal Nassary, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr Badawy Shahat, Vice President for Student Affairs and Education, and Eng. Tarek Talaat, MD of Misr Cement company-Qena

The president of the university confirmed that this agreement comes within the framework of the university’s societal role in achieving cooperation with community institutions in all fields, and the enhancement cooperation between the university’s faculties and Misr Cement Company in several aspects which result in many benefits from the scientific and practical experiences of both parties and providing training services. He also thanked Misr Cement Group for its developmental role and valuable cooperation

Major General Abdel Fattah Harhour added that the Cooperation Agreement with South Valley University was a great addition, as the university is an essential pillar for achieving development in the region, consequent providing the opportunity for students, and training the technical and research cadres in both institutions, the factory will help the preparation of the research laboratories that serve scientific research, as well as supporting students who are unable and providing support to The University Hostel

Prof. Dr Ahmed Kamal Nassari talked about the various aspects of the cooperation included in the agreement, such as providing training programs for university students in the practical field in the cement industry, providing the company employees with the opportunity to complete graduate studies at the university, and benefiting from the services of the university’s advisory centres.

The Misr Cement Company delegation undertook a tour of the University, which included a visit to the Career Development Centre, where Dr Mohamed Omran, the director of the centre, reviewed the centre’s activities and achievements. The tour also included the visual monitoring unit, the gymnasium, the productive services centre, the model vegetable farm and the animal production farm.

The agreement of the Cooperation Protocol witnessed by Eng. Bassam Abdel Hamid, Head of the Technical Group of the company, Adel Ahmed Mustafa, Secretary-General of the University, Engineer Yahya Attia, the Director of Misr Cement Factory, General Mohamed Abdel Menaim, Director of Government Relations, Ms Sally Latif, Director of Communications and Institutional Marketing, and Mubarak Ahmed Mahmoud, General Director of the University public relations and media
