South Valley University organizes the First Swimming Championship for the university faculties.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, and in the presence of Dr. Badawy Shahat, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Mahsoub Abdel Qader, Dean of the Faculty of Education, Dr. Ashraf Musa, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, and Dr. Ahmed Talaat Tamarik, Dean of the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, the first swimming championship for the university students was organized in the Faculty of Physical Education with the participation of 114 students.

In his speech, on behalf of the university president, Dr. Badawy Shahat confirmed that the university supports sporting talents, praising the effort to hold the first swimming championship at South Valley University, stressing that competition is not a goal. Still, participation and interaction are most important and those student activities are an integral part of the development of the university student character.

The championship was prepared and conceived by Dr. Abdel-Haq Sayed, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Community Service and Environmental Development. It was organized over two days, and the first three places won gold, silver, and bronze medals. Dr. Badawi Shahat, Vice President of the University distributed them to the winners.
