The Project Tasks


1- Follow-up of the main link line of the main headquarters of Qana in terms of communication, speed, and repair of malfunctions in coordination with the network of Egyptian universities and the company providing internet service (ISP).

2- Monitoring the connectivity lines of the University branches in terms of communication, speed, and repair of malfunctions in coordination with the network of Egyptian universities and the company providing Internet service (ISP).

3- Monitor the performance of (Juniper) and deal with the problems that occur with it and fix them.

4- Work on protection and insurance devices and programs supplied in the development of the Data Center as follows: –

  • UTM Devices for the Protection of the University Information Network.
  • IPS devices for protecting and securing the university’s internal information network.
  • Optimizer Devices.

5. Follow-up, repair, and maintenance of the Foundry Core Switch responsible for the following: –

  • Connecting colleges to the University Information Network in a unified intranet that allows data and applications to be exchanged.
  • Connecting university colleges to server devices on the university’s information network to take advantage of applications available within the information network, such as ex. DHCP, DNS, WEB, Database…………. etc.

6-Follow-up on the work, repair, and maintenance of Distribution Switches and Edge Switches at University colleges and update their operating systems.

7- Monitoring, repair, and maintenance of server devices and backups required for the following applications:

  • Web Service                         
  • E-mail Service
  • DNS Service                         
  • DHCP Service                         
  • FTP Service                         
  • MIS Database Service                         
  • MSAD Database Service                         
  • Active Directory Service                         
  • OCS Service                         
  • E_Learning Service                         
  • System Installation Service  

8- Implementing and holding video conferences by operating and maintaining devices, making the necessary reports, and recording the most important events.     

9- Work on live streaming devices for important events via the University’s website.

10- Provide technical support to the e-mail service (Exchange Email or Microsoft Email) in terms of creating new computers or changing passwords and reactivating disabled accounts.

11- Provide technical support for the servicing of Microsoft programs within the entire agreement with the Higher Council of Universities to provide the company’s programs via the Internet by creating accounts on the company’s website.

12- Discretionary measurements for the creation of new network focal points.

13- Preparation of conditions in case of the establishment of large networks installed through specialized companies through tenders submitted by the university.

14- Preparation of technical reports on the purchase of new devices and network supplies.

15- Technical check and receipt of newly installed networks.

16- Repair of networking points, maintenance of cabins, and confirmation of the proper functioning of data switchers devices.

17- Installation of the new network access point.

18- Maintainance and repair personal computers and ensure that these devices are connected to data switchers of these devices.

19- Upload operating systems and antivirus software on the university’s personal computers.
