Collaboration across societal sectors has emerged as one of the defining concepts of international development in the 21st century. Consequently, partnership has grown to become an essential paradigm in sustainable development.

SVU always endeavors to establish and maintain constructive and solid cooperative relationships and engagements with all stakeholders in particular NGOs. Out of the University’s conviction that NGOs can play different roles in the implementation of the SDGs.

The following are the best practice of SVU that collaborate with NGOs to tackle the SDGs

To encourage our students every year SVU announce the best student award among faculties and finalize through university which depend on many factors including: The factors of the competition depend on the student being one of those who participate in the fields of student activity, voluntary work and community service, and that he/she has a general culture, a distinguished personal vision, and language skills.(law faculty- click here).

Misr El Kheir Foundation (NGOs) :

 

Major General Ashraf Al-Daoudi, Governor of Qena, and Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of the University, handed a puppeteer to 89 orphaned girls and the first in care, who were expected to get married during the celebration organized by the Social Solidarity Directorate in Qena in Cinderella Hall, in coordination with civil society organizations participating in the ceremony. In the presence of Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor of Qena, Eng. Tamer Saeed, Secretary General of the Governorate, Brigadier General Ahmed Awad, Military Adviser, Hussein El-Baz, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Qena, and Eng. Khaled Omran, Director of the Misr El Kheir Foundation in the governorates of Qena and Luxor, members of Parliament, Senate, executive and popular leaders. Volunteering Students participates in the wedding and staff as well.

Within the framework of the cooperation protocol between SVU  and the Egyptian Foundation for Integrated Development (Al-Nida) in the field of training university students, under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of the University, and under the supervision of Mr. Prof. Ahmed Kamal Nassari, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of Mr. A. Dr. Essam El-Din Abdel-Hadi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, the Foundation organized a two-day training course for students of the Faculty of Agriculture at the university on berry cultivation and its related processes (propagation – breeding – fertilization). The training in that course was conducted by Dr. Mahmoud Saad Ibrahim, researcher at the Plant Protection Research Institute Silk Research Department) at the Agricultural Research Center in Cairo.

Prof. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, inaugurated the activities of the Masar project for entrepreneurship training, which is implemented by the Inroot Development Organization, funded by the Dutch government, in cooperation with the Faculty of Agriculture at South Valley University, from 5-6 July, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nassari, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Dr. Essam El Din Abdel Hadi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Hani El Salamouni, Head of Development Programs Sector at Inroot Organization for Development
