The South Valley University Council approved the following:
– Two Electronic Applications for managing official communications and financial dues of the university. In its recent meeting at the university headquarters in Qena, chaired by Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, the council approved the use of the electronic application (Official Spokesperson), which has been uploaded to the university server. A logo has been created for it, and it can be accessed at [http://app.suv.edu.eg/social_svu1] (http://app.suv.edu.eg/social_svu1). This application will serve as an official communication tool within the university community. The council also approved the use of the “My Dues” application, aimed at simplifying the management of financial dues electronically and increasing transparency.
The council was informed of the decision by the Prime Minister, Dr. (3005 of 2024), to establish Hurghada University located in the Red Sea Governorate and to cancel the branch of South Valley University in Hurghada.
The university council also approved the implementation plan for the activities of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector for the academic year 2024/2025. Additionally, it approved the establishment of a postgraduate diploma in Applied Criminal Sciences—a distinguished program with fees—offered under the credit hour system at the Faculty of Science.
The council approved holding a scientific conference titled “Eighth Young Researchers Conference” from December 15-16, 2024, at the Faculty of Agriculture. It also approved organizing the fourth international conference entitled “Basic Sciences and Sustainable Development,” scheduled for January 28-30, 2025, at the Faculty of Science, and the second scientific conference for the Faculty of Nursing titled “Challenges Facing Nursing in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability,” scheduled for November 20-21, 2024 (the first day at the university president’s conference hall in Qena, and the second day in Luxor Governorate).
The council approved launching the “Applied Health Sciences Technology” program at South Valley University and accepted the curriculum for the Archaeology and Tourism Guidance program as a credit-hour program at the university.
It also approved the appointment of Dr. Mohamed Hosni Hassan Osman and Dr. Zaki Mohamed Farouk Zaki Aref as professors in the Faculty of Medicine, along with the appointment of Dr. Hamat Mohamed Dardir Qilai and Dr. Issam Obaid Mubarak Mohamed as professors in the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering, respectively. The council granted the academic title of Assistant Professor to Dr. Rasha Fawzi Ahmed Abdel Rahim in the Faculty of Specific Education and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Basset Hassan Dankal in the Faculty of Engineering. It approved the appointment of lecturers for Dr. Hala Farag Dakhli Ismail in the Faculty of Science, Dr. Asmaa Hassan Mohamed Basri in the Faculty of Specific Education, Dr. Fatma Said Omar Mohamed Hassan in the Faculty of Agriculture, and Dr. Yasser Abdullah Fahmy Hassan in the Faculty of Medicine.
Moreover, the council approved awarding doctoral degrees to eight researchers and master’s degrees to 45 researchers from various university faculties. It also agreed to grant diplomas in Arts to the successful students of the July 2024 session from the Faculty of Arts.
