In line with national efforts to enhance the role of universities in achieving desired national goals, and as part of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Human Development,” a comprehensive convoy was launched under the sponsorship of Dr. Ahmed Akawy, President of South Valley University, and under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed Said, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, in the coastal area of Nagaa Hammadi, Qena.
Dr. Ahmed Akawy emphasized the university’s commitment to actively participate in the initiative’s activities. The day’s events included a comprehensive convoy aimed at improving medical service indicators, spreading awareness and psychological guidance, educating about combating corruption, and raising awareness of the dangers of addiction and substance abuse.
The convoy involved a distinguished group of faculty members from the university’s faculties of Medicine, Nursing, and Specific Education.
Dr. Mohamed Said, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, noted that the medical convoy provided treatment services to 512 cases, including diagnoses, treatments, and referrals to the university hospital. The breakdown of cases included 90 internal medicine cases, 97 ophthalmology cases, 158 orthopedic cases, 75 pediatric cases, 35 gynecological cases, 53 ENT cases, and 4 cases involving individuals with special needs.
