The University Participates in Workshop on “Internationalization” at the British Council


Dr. Ahmed Akawi, President of South Valley University, participated in a workshop organized by the Supreme Council of Universities in collaboration with the British Council titled “Internationalization: Setting Goals and Achieving Them.” The workshop was also attended by Dr. Hassan Ahmed Younis, Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and representative of South Valley University.

This workshop is part of the implementation of the national strategy by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to develop higher education. Dr. Ahmed Akawi stated that the workshop covered the definition and goals of internationalization, its importance for Egyptian universities, and how to achieve it for graduate students and faculty members.

Dr. Hassan Ahmed Younis added that the workshop discussed how to analyze the current situation of each university to identify its needs for achieving internationalization, the obstacles to this process, and the positive impact on universities through the exchange of expertise and cultures via international protocols and projects. The workshop concluded with a discussion on the scholarships offered by the British Council to Egyptian universities.
