The South Valley University President Meets with the Strategic Planning and Future Studies Center Team

Dr. Ahmed Akawy, President of South Valley University, held a meeting with the team from the Strategic Planning and Future Studies Center to discuss the importance of strategic factors and their significance in preparing the new strategic plan for the university for the period 2023/2024 – 2027/2028. The meeting was attended by Dr. Hussein Abdel Basset, Director of the Center, Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed, Deputy Director, and several members of the strategic planning team.
Dr. Akawy emphasized the necessity of focusing on several key pillars in developing the new strategic plan, including:
- Visual Identity: Creating an attractive internal and external visual identity for the university.
- Resource Optimization: Maximizing the university’s self-resources and minimizing waste.
- Assessment of University Role: Evaluating the university’s contribution to national initiatives.
- Administrative Efficiency: Improving the efficiency of the administrative apparatus and automating processes to compensate for on-going shortages.
- Educational Infrastructure: Reviewing educational infrastructure, curricula, and the efficiency of lecture halls and laboratories.
- Faculty Development: Enhancing faculty competencies and establishing a Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
- Alumni Association: Developing a strong connection with the university’s alumni.
- Scientific Research: Linking scientific research to community needs and providing training and incentives for researchers.
- Environmental Focus: Expanding green spaces and promoting clean energy.
- Community Service: Strengthening the university’s role in serving the community.
This meeting aims to develop a comprehensive strategic plan that ensures the achievement of desired goals and enhances the position of South Valley University in both academic and community contexts.
