A medical team from the Department of Ophthalmology and the Department of Anaesthesia at Qena University Hospital succeeded in performing a delicate operation for a 7-year-old girl to treat her squint and eyelid drooping, this comes within the framework of the development of Qena University Hospitals under the auspices of prof. Dr. Youssef Garbawy, President of South Valley University, and Dr. Ali Abdel Rahman Goel, Dean of Faculty of Medicine in Qena.
Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Daghimy, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at faculty of medicine and the university hospital added that the department’s outpatient clinic received the seven-year-old girl, who was suffering from a complete absence of the Levator Palpebrae Superioris Muscle function, which led to squinting and sagging of the eyelid.
Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al-Daghimy also confirmed that this operation is considered within the work of the strabismus and blepharoplasty unit of the department
Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman, Manager of Al Maabar University Hospital, added that the girl is recovering in the hospital’s internal department under medical observation.
