The President of the University inaugurates the Seventh International Conference for Young Researchers in the Field of Physical Education


Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, inaugurated the events of the Seventh International Conference for Young Researchers in the Field of Physical Education, which is organized by the Faculty of Physical Education at South Valley University, under the title “A strategic vision towards a better future for Arab sports in light of climate changes”, in the presence of Dr. Badawy Shahat, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ashraf Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and President of the Conference, and Dr. Ahmed Abdel Salam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs and Rapporteur of the Conference.

Dr. Youssef Gharbawy praised the active role of the Faculty of Physical Education in all activities and events, whether inside or outside the university, praising its role in the success of the opening ceremony of the World Speedball Cup in Hurghada. He also pointed out that the whole world is concerned with climate change and its negative effects on all sectors, including the sports sector, requesting young researchers to make the most of the support of the university and the state for scientific research to be active in the service of the university, society and the country.

In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, affirmed that scientific research has become a fundamental pillar in which universities achieve advanced positions in world rankings. For this, the university, with the support of Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of the University, is keen to organize such a conference where young researchers from the university and abroad are given the opportunity to participate and benefit from scientific and research. He also expressed his happiness about the return of research activities and the holding of scientific conferences after the end of the coronavirus pandemic, and he valued the role of the Faculty of Physical Education in the effective contribution to all the activities of the university, explaining that the practice of physical and sports activities is a human necessity and a major requirement to maintain physical, psychological, mental and social health, as technical and technological progress has led to lethargy and lack of movement, which in turn has become an attractive environment for many modern diseases.

For his part, Dr. Badawy Shahat, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, congratulated the University ِPresident that the University achieved a new international achievement in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, praising the effort of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector, and the integrated relationship between all sectors of the university under his leadership.

Dr. Ashraf Moussa, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, commended the support of the President of the University for scientific research and all activities and activities at the University, affirming that science, dialogue and communication are the way to progress and build homelands and that scientific research is in response to the requirements of the community and the preparation of cadres, and praising the support of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector for such conferences.

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Salam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs and the rapporteur of the conference, added that this conference has the participation of 90 researcher from from the faculties of physical education in Sohag, Qena, the Faculty of Education, and includes a discussion of 13 research in several axes.

The opening of the conference was witnessed by Dr. Imad Abu Al-Qasim, former Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Dr. Mahmoud Labib, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Abdel Haq Sayed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Hani El-Desouki, professor at the faculty, department heads, faculty members and their assistants, administrators and young researchers participating in the conference.
