Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, visited Saint Mark’s Church to congratulate His Eminence Anba Sharubim on his promotion to the rank of Bishop. He was accompanied during the visit by Ahmed Akkawy, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nasari, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Mr. Adel Ahmed Mustafa, Secretary General of the University.
Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy expressed his delight at this promotion which embodies the march of giving to Anba Sharubim, stressing the bonds of love and fraternal relations that combine the two components of the Egyptian nation which are always reflected in the national attitudes that Egypt faces. Indicating that the university fully appreciates the role of the church in spreading the values of tolerance and love in society.
Anba Sharubim, Bishop of Qena, thanked Dr. Youssef Gharabawy and his companions for the visit that he cherishes from a distinguished professor who heads a large scientific edifice that contributes to provision educational and research services. His Eminence Anba praised South Valley University as the locomotive of development in south Upper Egypt and its keenness to participate positively in all the services of society. The visit was witnessed by Priest Daniel El-Syriani, the Deputy of the Archdiocese, Priest Amnios Fares, Priest Royce Nasr, and Priest Tawadros Morcos.
