The Minister of Higher Education, the Governor of the Red Sea, and the President of South Valley University inspect the university branch in Hurghada


Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inspected the executive construction works of the Faculties of Tourism and Hotels, Art and Design, at the South Valley University branch in Hurghada, in the presence of Major General Amr Muhammad Hanafy, Governor of the Red Sea, Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Badawy Shahat, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nasary, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Mahfouz Abdel Sattar, Vice President for Hurghada Branch Affairs.

The minister was briefed on the rates of implementation of the ongoing construction works in the faculties of tourism, hotels, arts and design, which are being built on an area of 15,000 square meters at a cost of 300 million pounds. He praised the commitment to the rates of completion of the construction works that are taking place according to predetermined schedules.

The minister also inspected the Faculty of Computers and Information, which includes many laboratories equipped with the latest technological media and robots. Where the electrical laboratory and the artificial intelligence laboratory were inaugurated at a cost of 3 million pounds to train students and refine their experiences and knowledge, linking the theoretical aspect to applied education; in the framework of increasing students’ competence and qualification to compete in the contemporary and future labour market. in addition to inspecting the Faculty of Al-Alsun and language laboratories, praising the level of equipment for training students in line with the requirements of the local, regional and international labor market.

Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, media advisor and and spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, stated that the South Valley University branch in Hurghada currently includes 3 faculties: Education, Al-Alsun, and Computers and Information. The construction of two new faculties is underway, and the total area of the university branch in Hurghada is about 500 acres.
