The Governor of Qena and the Vice President of South Valley University witness the honoring ceremony of winners of the Arab Programming Championship


Major General Ashraf Al-Daoudy, Governor of Qena, and Dr. Muhammad Saeed, Vice President of South Valley University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, witness the honoring ceremony of winners of the Arab Programming Championship organized by Creativa Centre at South Valley University in cooperation with the Technostim Center for Programming, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Computer and Information, in the presence of Dr. Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor, Hossam Hamouda, Secretary General of the Governorate, Hassan Othman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, Engineer Mahmoud Abdel Khaleq, Director of the Creativa Center, Randa Al-Barkawi, Director of the Technostim Center, and Salma Al-Qadi, Member of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood.

For his part, the Governor of Qena explained that 150 students from 6 to 16 years of age, from the governorates of Qena, Assiut, and Luxor, participated in the competition, noting that the competition was organized in the fields of robotics and programming during the period from last August until this October. Pointing out that those who obtain the first three places will be promoted to participate in the international programming finals held in the Kingdom of Jordan. 

Al-Daoudy added that he is keen to provide support to young people to qualify and develop their skills, as well as to provide all necessary training, rehabilitation and care services to enable them to participate effectively to serve and build society.

Dr. Muhammad Saeed conveyed the greetings of Ahmed Akkawy, President of the University, stressing the University’s keenness to nurture and encourage innovation and innovators through the establishment of an innovation center that adopts all talented students and supports the various talents they present in various external participations and competitions.

In turn, Randa Al-Barkawi, Director of the Technostim Center, praised the continuous support provided by the Governor of Qena to the students and the university’s role in sponsoring the competition, noting that the right environment was being provided for students with a view to building a conscious generation that faced the challenges of the twenty-first century, thus elevating our beloved Egypt and placing it in the ranks of developed countries.
