The governor of Qena and the President of South Valley University discuss the establishment of infrastructure facilities to the National University


Major General Ashraf Al-Daoudi, Qena Governor, and Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, held an expanded meeting to follow up on the establishment of infrastructure facilities to the National University in Qena, in the presence of Dr. Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor, Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nassary, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Hussam Hammouda, General Secretary of Qena Governorate, Muhammad Salah Abu Karisha, the Assistant General Secretary, Dr. Farag Khoudary, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and of a number of concerned executive leaders.

The Governor stressed the rapid start of introducing of facilities to South Valley National University, as it is one of the priority national projects that comes within the framework of the national project to expand the establishment of national universities with international standards, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership to develop higher education system in Egypt. Thus, in Qena Governorate, we will have a new scientific edifice added to the university education system to provide a high level of education, which contributes to providing high-quality education opportunities in various sciences, as well as qualifying graduates to be able to compete in the labor market.

The President of the University confirmed that Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, issued a decision to consider the new national universities emanating from public universities as a “National Project” as It is not intended for profit but student fees are used to modernize laboratories, develop the educational system, and the necessary maintenance work, explaining that the estimated cost of the university will be about 4 billion pounds.
