As part of the 17th Environmental Week at South Valley University, held under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Akkawi, President of the University, and Prof. Mohamed Said Abdullah, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Medicine in Qena organized a symposium on modern diseases. The event was supervised by Prof. Ali Abdel Rahman Ghowail, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Abdel Nasser Abdel Gaber, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The symposium was delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Gamal El-Din, Lecturer in the Department of Endemic Diseases and Gastroenterology. It provided an overview of several prevalent modern diseases, including hypertension, diabetes, heart diseases, atherosclerosis, autoimmune diseases, liver viruses, and the Ebola virus. The session also highlighted preventive measures and the importance of early diagnosis in managing these conditions effectively.
The event witnessed a large turnout of students who actively engaged in discussions, enriching the session with insightful debates and enhancing the overall learning experience.
