Symposium on Green Economy


A symposium on Green Economy was organized within the context of the 9th Environmental week organized by SVU under the auspices of Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khaled Atef Abdel Ghaffar and President of the University Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Razek, Vice Dean for Environmental Development and Community Service at Faculty of Commerce, talked about the ability of achieving the optimal allocation of economic resources to achieve the environmental sustainability, to preserve the environment from pollution and to raise the ability of economic factors to achieve prosperity in an environment with no audio-visual pollution. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Abdel Aziz Sheba, Vice Dean at Faculty of Agriculture, defined green economy as an alternative vision for growth and development; one that can generate growth and improvements in people’s lives in ways consistent with sustainable development. A Green Economy promotes a triple bottom line: sustaining and advancing economic, environmental and social well-being. At the end, he referred to the green economic in agriculture.
