SVU Motivates Students to Participate in Literacy and Adult Education Project


Under the auspice of university president Prof. Dr. Youssuf Gharbawy, and Vice President for Community Services and Environmental Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nassary, a meeting was held in Luxor to motivate students to participate in Literacy and Adult Education Project. Mr. Khaled Mohammed Shams, General Manager of Adult Education Branch in Luxor, talked about the number of illiterate individuals in the governorate that is more than 230, 000, thanking SVU for participating in the project. Also, he illustrated the objective of the project that is a part of the presidential initiative “Haya Karima” that seeks to eradicate the illiteracy of citizens in rural Egyptian villages and overcome all difficulties that face this achievement. Additionally, Mr. Mohammed Alkamel, General Coordinator of Literacy and Adult Education project at the university, stressed in his word the importance of those meetings to provide students all facilities they need, referring to the university role in serving the community.
