South Valley University Participates in the Panel Discussion “Enhancing the Role of State Institutions and Civil Society in Combating Violence Against Women” at the National Council for Women


Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Akkawi, President of the University, and Dr. Mohamed Saeed, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit at South Valley University participated in the panel discussion titled “Enhancing the Role of State Institutions and Civil Society in Combating Violence Against Women”.

 

This event was held in collaboration with the New Woman Foundation and the National Council for Women in Qena as part of the activities of the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign.

 

Dr. Huda El-Saadi, the rapporteur of the National Council for Women in Qena, highlighted the importance of sustaining efforts to combat violence against women. She presented the evolution of the council’s approach to raising awareness about different forms of violence and its role in training and developing the skills of rural female leaders through awareness sessions and door-to-door campaigns to combat all forms of violence against women.
