South Valley University organizes Awareness Convoys in Al- Asayrat Village, Farshout, Qena Governorate.


Under the patronage of Prof. Dr Youssef Gharabawy, President of South Valley University and Prof. Dr Ahmed Kamal Nasary, Vice- President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, South Valley University organize convoys in the Southern Province as part of its participation in the Presidential initiative “A Dignified Life”. In this context, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector carried out a comprehensive convoy in Al-Asayrat Village, Farshout, Qana Government, which included a Symposium on Financial and Accounting Auditing conducted by the Faculty of Commerce under the supervision of Prof. Dr Hussein Abdel Nasar, Dean of the Faculty, in participate of Dr Mahmoud Abdel Raziq, Vice-Dean for Community Services and Environmental Development Affairs.

Dr Mohamed Sayed, Director of the University’s Literacy and Adult Education Centre, spoke about the role of the University in the issue of literacy and the awareness-raising on the importance of eliminating illiteracy because it is an obstacle to the development of the country. Participation activities addressed adult education, its importance, the procedures for opening literacy classes and the role of community bodies in motivating and supporting illiterate students to attend classes, how to teach and deal with them, and taking into account the psychological characteristics of adult education.

The Convoy examined 545 patients in the specialities of Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics Diseases, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Nose and Ear Diseases, Dermatology, Psychological & Neurological cases and 19 cases of people with special needs, as well as the Veterinary Convoy which provided services to 211 cases of different animals such as buffaloes, sheep and camels.
