Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nassar, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, SVU organized a comprehensive campaign Included convoys(human medical – veterinary medical – physical education – nursing) for El-Ghawsa Village, Qena Governorate.
Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nassary indicated that the medical convoys examined and treated 850 patients from residents of the village for free in the following specializations: 85 cases in ophthalmology, 180 instances in Orthopedics, 69 cases in Nose, Ear &Throat, 132 cases in Internal Medicine, 65 cases in obstetrics and gynecology, 157 cases in Pediatrics, 147 cases in Dermatology, and 15 cases in psychological & neurological, in addition to 8 instances of disabled people, and he added that the Fund of the Treatment and Control of Addiction raised awareness of residents of the village about the dangers of addiction and how to treat and prevent it and they also distributed leaflets and posters on methods of treatment and prevention of addiction.
The Veterinary Convoy treated 214 cases of cows, buffaloes, sheep, and other animals, and 1579 cases of different types of birds, on the other hand, The Physical Education Caravan conducted a series of recreational games for schoolchildren and a football league in the Village Youth Center, and an awareness seminar on the importance of sport, moreover, The nursing convoy also measured the pressure and sugar of patients, and they educated citizens about the symptoms of breast cancer and how to self-examine, and the number of beneficiaries of the nursing convoy reached more than 300 cases.
