South Valley University Launches Institutional Excellence Awards for the Academic Year 2024/2025

Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, President of South Valley University, announced the launch of the Institutional Excellence Awards (Phase Two) and the University Hospitals Awards (Phase Three). He confirmed that the university and its Quality Assurance Center have completed preparations for the awards, including the programming of the application for submission, evaluation, and adjudication processes. Additionally, a dedicated webpage for each award has been created on the university’s website, featuring the award regulations, submission links, and explanatory training videos on the awards, their criteria, and the application process. The organization of these awards is intended as a tool for continuous improvement in performance across all university affiliates and administrative academic units.
Dr. Akkawy stated that the Institutional Excellence Awards (Phase Two) include:
- South Valley University Award for Excellence in teaching (optional submission open to all faculty members and their assistants).
- South Valley University Award for Best Academic Program (mandatory submission for all university programs).
- South Valley University Award for Best Faculty (mandatory submission for all university faculties).
- South Valley University Award for Best Central Administration and Best Sub-Administration (mandatory submission for all central and sub-administrations within the faculties and central departments).
- South Valley University Award for Best Special Unit/Centre (mandatory submission for all special units and centers within the university).
Dr. Tarek Al-Kashif, Director of the Quality Assurance Center, added that the Phase Three University Hospitals Awards include:
- South Valley University Award for Best Clinical Department in University Hospitals (mandatory submission for all clinical departments in university hospitals).
- South Valley University Award for Best Clinic in University Hospitals (mandatory submission for all clinics in university hospitals).
- South Valley University Award for Best University Hospital (mandatory submission for all university hospitals).
- South Valley University Award for Best Doctor in University Hospitals (optional submission open to all doctors in university hospitals).
- South Valley University Award for Best Nursing Specialist and Nurse in University Hospitals (optional submission open to all nursing specialists and nurses in university hospitals).
- South Valley University Award for Best Health Technician in University Hospitals (optional submission open to all health technicians in university hospitals).
Dr. Akkawy decided to open applications for all announced awards from today until November 30, 2024. Applications for all awards will be submitted electronically through the dedicated application on the university’s website, in accordance with the approved regulations. He urged all academic and administrative units, as well as the university hospitals sector, to form teams to apply for these awards, as per the university president’s directive, and to present their teams for approval at the next session of the governing councils and boards of management of these units (scheduled for October).
