Seminar on “The Risks of the Drug GHB”


           In accordance with the directives of Prof. Ahmed Akawy, President of South Valley University, and under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Said Abdallah, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Gamal Abdallah Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty; and Dr. Noha Ahmed El-Tayeh, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Faculty of Science organized an awareness seminar entitled “The Risks of the Drug GHB.” The seminar was delivered by Dr. Noha Ahmed El-Tayeh, Professor in the Department of Botany and Microbiology and Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.

        The seminar addressed the definition of drugs, the nature and causes of addiction, and the different types of drugs, with a specific focus on GHB and its harmful effects on both individuals and society. It also highlighted strategies for the prevention of drug addiction.

           At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. El-Tayeh expressed her gratitude to the attendees for their interaction and responded to all inquiries.

           The seminar witnessed a large student turnout, along with the participation of several members of the Faculty’s administrative staff. It was held in the laboratories of the Botany Department at Laboratory Unit Building (B), Faculty of Science.
