Pharmacies department includes three pharmacies in the University Hospital, as follows: Outpatient pharmacy:
It is located in outpatient clinics building, which is holds the dispensing of medicines to outpatient clinics at the hospital. Internal Pharmacy:
which is located in the hospital building and holds the dispensing of medicines to various internal departments and operations in hospital. Main store:
It is holds the distribute medicines to the hospital pharmacies.
Services and provided role:
1 – Provide the Necessary medicines for operations.
2 – Exchange medicines for internal departments.
3 – Exchange medicines for outpatient clinics.
Social participation:1 – participating in all of the medical convoys in the (Qena – Luxor – Aswan – Red Sea – a triangle of Halaib and Shalaten) provinces.
2 – Equipping convoys with the all required medicines and medical supplies.
3 – Exchange medicines to the public for a nominal fee.

Supply of medicines:
A connecting has been made with the produced and distributed pharmaceutical companies, that to be supplying of medicine to the hospital with same conditions and prices, which supplies the medicine at Assiut University Hospital, and until the completion of the tender on Qena University Hospital for the supplying of medicines and supplies. Approval has been taken from the companies, it was also the hospital coding of all pharmaceutical companies.
And indeed, Medicines which have been selected by all the hospital departments have been supplied depending on the needs of each department and also outpatient medicines.
Equipping medical convoys with medicines:
• Medical convoys were sent to areas of Halaib and Shalatin _ Edfu _ and Nag Hammad. These convoys have been equipped with the necessary medicines for treatment and that in the months of February and March.
•The departments of the hospital is equipping now with the necessary medicines to each department through the orders are requested by theresponsible doctor include the categories and quantities.
• Pharmacists who in charge were received by the Ministry of Health and assigned to the hospital.
•Distributing the medicines at the pharmacy departments includes:
– Internal pharmacy: Which supplying the internal departments of hospital with necessary medicines for each department.
– Outpatient Pharmacy: It discharges the medicines to patients through the outpatient clinics tickets.
