Qena Governor Chaired the National Health Council


Major General Ashraf El-Dawoudi, Governor of Qena, discussed the medical situation in the governorate and how to strengthen the collaborative relationships  between the hospitals of Health Directorate and university hospitals to raise the level of medical services and serve the patient. This came during the meeting of the National Health Council of Qena Governorate in the presence of Dr.  Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor, Mr. Hossam Hamouda, Secretary General of the governorate, Dr. Ragi Tawadros, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Population, Prof. Dr. Abdel Rahman Ghowayel, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ali Rabea, Consultant of the University President for Medical Affairs, Dr. Hagagy Mansour, Executive Manager of the University Hospitals and members of parliament: Mohammed Moustafa Algabalawy, Moustafa Mahmoud Moustafa and Ahmed Amer. The governor referred in his speech to the level of coordination between the Directorate of Health and the university hospitals that has witnessed remarkable development in the past months. Also, he emphasized the necessity of unifying efforts, exchanging ideas, and working in a team spirit. Moreover, he listened to a detailed presentation by Dr. Ragi Tawadros about the effort of Directorate of Health to provide the medical services to citizens over the past years. He explained that the governorate includes 26 hospitals with 2288 beds in addition to 247 primary care units, health offices,  and childcare units, 15 blood banks, 73 operations rooms, 432 dialysis machines, 446 neonatal intensive care units and 66 ambulance centers. The various medical initiatives were discussed during the meeting as examining hearing impairment in children, detecting chronic diseases, and maintaining the maternal and fetal health.
