President of South Valley University Meets with Coordination Committee for University Name Change Project


Dr. Ahmed Akkaoui, President of South Valley University, held a meeting with members of the coordination committee responsible for managing the project to change the university’s name to Qena University.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Said, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Mohamed Wael Abdel Azim, Vice President for Graduate Studies; Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Academic Vice President of the National University; Dr. Haggagy Mansour, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Ms. Toroub Tolba, University Secretary-General; Mr. Abdel Razek Hussein, Assistant Secretary-General; as well as officials from the University Quality Assurance Center, faculty members, and administrative leaders from both the university and Qena University Hospitals.

Dr. Akkaoui emphasized that the decision to change the university’s name aims to strengthen its institutional identity, align it more closely with the governorate that hosts it, reinforce local identity, and foster a stronger sense of belonging among students, faculty members, and the residents of the region.
