Under the auspices of Ministries of Tourism, Transport, Antiquities, Electricity, Local Development, Social Solidarity, the conference entitled “National Projects are the Artery of Sustainable Development and Tourism in Upper Egypt” was held on July 20-23, 2017 and under the scientific patronage of SVU and Arab Academy for Science and Technology. Governor of Red Sea Governorate Major General Ahmed Abdullah asserted in his speech the importance of national projects in achieving sustainable development, referring to the number of national projects in the governorate as projects of Renewable Energy, Water Desalination, Road and Transport projects and Increasing the capacity of Hurghada Airport. He also praised the role of the university as a research center where students graduate. President of the University Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour asserted the importance of highlighting the national projects, thanking all the conference organizers. He also referred to the university establishment of buildings, expansions of hospitals and other environmental projects, praising efforts of the conference participants from Arab countries. The conference witnessed the participation of Secretary General of Arab Hospitals Federation Dr. Tawfik Khoja, Chairman of Aljuwaisri Investment Group sheikh Adel Aljuwaisri and Chairman of Gulf Countries in the Love of Egypt institution Dr. Yousef Alomairy .SVU participated in the conference by many researches from the different faculties.
