The Council approves the academic calendar for the new academic year 2024/2025:
– September 28: Start of the new academic year at universities and institutes
– January 4: Start of final exams for the first semester
– January 25: Start of the mid-year vacation for the new academic year
– February 8: Start of the second semester
– May 29: End of classes for the second semester
– Final exams for the second semester will be held in June 2025, according to the nature of the study and exams in each college.
The Council approves:
– The separation of the South Valley University branch in Hurghada to become an independent university named “University of Hurghada”
– The establishment of Benha University of Technology on the Benha University land in Al-Obour
The Minister of Higher Education directs:
– Ensuring that laboratories at universities are ready throughout the various stages of electronic coordination
– Continuing the media campaign to inform students about the different stages of coordination
The Minister of Higher Education praises:
– The inclusion of 27 Egyptian universities in the US News ranking for 2024
– The inclusion of 15 Egyptian universities in the Leiden Dutch ranking for its new edition in 2024
– The inclusion of 51 Egyptian universities among the best international universities listed in the Web metrics global citation ranking
