Meeting to Explore Opportunities for Joint Cooperation between the Governor of Qena and the President of South Valley University


Dr. Khaled Abdel Halim, Governor of Qena, met with Dr. Ahmed Akkawi, President of South Valley University, to discuss areas of joint cooperation between the university and the governorate. The discussion focused on supporting the investment climate and enhancing opportunities for mutual collaboration. The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Said, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Khaled Bin Al-Waleed, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Dr. Ahmed Hashem, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Farag Khodary, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Dr. Mona Shehat, Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Center; Dr. Haggagi Mansour, Executive Director of University Hospitals; Dr. Hussein Maghraby, University Engineering Consultant; Dr. Jamiana Dawood, University Engineering Consultant; Dr. Aref Mahmoud, Director of the University’s Engineering Consultations Center; Mr. Ahmed Hamdy Hijab, General Manager of the President’s Office; and Mr. Moayed Abdullah, Director of the Technical Office.

During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the importance of the university’s role in all sectors of development, considering it an expert institution that provides necessary studies for development projects with its distinguished scientific and research human resources. He pointed out the need for the governorate to utilize these experts in preparing feasibility studies for investment projects that the governorate intends to implement, especially for productive projects.

The President of the university affirmed the significance of feasibility studies as a powerful tool that assists in making decisions to proceed with or abandon a project. These studies help in understanding the intricacies of the project and the market, determining the project’s profitability, attracting investors, and ensuring the sustainability of the projects. He emphasized that feasibility studies are an effective tool for attracting funders and investors, as they trust that the project has been thoroughly evaluated and that there are well-considered plans for achieving financial success.
