In the presence of the Minister of Higher Education in Tunis and
representatives of 100 universities from the Middle East and the
Mediterranean as well as a group of ministers of higher education and
specialists from various countries, South Valley University participated
with a delegation headed by Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour, the university
president in events of the governance conference from vision to
implementation, which organized by the International Bank in
collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in
Tunisia and the Tunisian Industries union for two days from on June
12-13, 2014.
While Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour, the university president confirmed that
the university participated since 2011 in all events and presented the
implementation plan for system of governance which aims to improve
administrative attitudes at the university and accounting systems , as
well as strengthening the academic independence of the university and
financial, increasing the participation of students, administrators and
academic staff in achieving the vision and mission of the university and
take the decisions.
As all attendees were praised the plan which prepared by the university,
adding that the conference was discussed the methods of strengthening
the governance inside the university for achieving the comprehensive
quality, in order to prepare graduates able to meet the challenges of
the labor market, as well as holding panel discussion by Ministers of
Higher Education , in order to discuss the achievements and challenges
in the governance systems and the quality in the universities,in
addition to hold four panel discussions on internal transparency and
quality systems and external, it is worth mention that the study of
governance at the universities of Middle East and the Mediterranean is
implemented under the auspices of the International Bank in 2011
On the other hand, Minister of Higher Education in Tunisia was concluded
the conference and stressed on applying the prepared studies for
improving the management systems and education in the universities as he
thanked all delegations
