For the first time in Qena: Conducting Surgeries of Balloon Dilatation Mitral Valve instead of Open-Heart surgeries at SVU


The medical team of a cardiac catheterization Department at the hospital university succeeded in conducting two surgeries for the first time in Qena with assist of Canadian-Egyptian expert Dr. Reda Mahfouz, consultant of heart and chest diseases at Alberta University in Canada, and Dr. Hossam Ismail , lecturer of heart disease at Faculty of Medicine, South Valley University.
As the team succeeded in Balloon Dilatation Mitral Valve instead of Open-Heart surgeries and changing the valves , as Dr. Hossam confirmed that cases in stable condition, while the visit of Dr. Reda Mahfouz, the expert added a lot in catheter field , as well as keeping up with all that is new in cardiac surgery, where the Department of catheter was conducted (300) surgeries for the people of the region
