Conclusion of the Eighth International Conference for Young Researchers in Agricultural Sciences at South Valley University


The activities of the Eighth International Conference for Young Researchers, organized by the Faculty of Agriculture at South Valley University, concluded on December 16, 2024. The conference, held over two days from December 15-16, was conducted under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Akkawi, President of the University, and supervised by Dr. Mohamed Wael Abdel-Azim, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

 

Dr. Essam El-Din Abdel-Hadi, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Conference Chair, stated that the event featured presentations by researchers from China and Turkey, alongside contributions from faculty members of the college. The presentations focused on modern technologies in agriculture, such as molecular genetics and its applications in improving productivity and resisting adverse environmental conditions in field and horticultural crops.

 

One of the lectures addressed edible and smart coatings used in food packaging, while another explored the medical applications of bee venom in treating certain diseases. Additionally, the use of grafting techniques in vegetable crops was discussed.

 

The conference highlighted the exchange of innovative ideas and practices in agricultural science, aiming to advance research and development in the field.
