The events of the 1st International Conference of Faculty of Tourism and Hotels was begun in Luxor under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ashraf Al-Shehhi , Minister of Higher Education , Dr. Mohammed Rashid Minister of Tourism and Dr. Mohamed Badr, Luxor governor , Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour, the University president and Prof. Dr. Sayed Taha, Vice President for community service in the period from April 19-21, 2016. As Dr. Mohamed Badr, Luxor governor confirmed on the importance of Tourism in Luxor and Egypt, because it is backbone of Egyptian economy, he also appealing tourism companies to work on attracting domestic tourism. Moreover, Dr. Obaid Abdul Ati Saleh, the President of Damanhour University praised south valley university in holding these conferences, and pointed out to integrate all efforts among civil organizations, government and private sector in order to upgrade it. While Dr. Saleh Abdel Muti , Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Hotels and President of the Conference’s chairmen stressed on the importance of tourism, because of the role in supporting the economies of many countries. The opening session of the conference was attended by Dr. Mahmoud Khoddary, former vice president of the university, deans , several representatives of the tourism sector in Luxor , representatives from the training , as well as Dr. SAyed Taha, Vice President honored the many representatives of the tourism sector
