Awareness symposium on the dangers of addiction and drugs at the Faculty of Education, South Valley University


Within the framework of the cooperation protocol between South Valley University and the Fund for Combating and Treating Drug Addiction, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, President of South Valley University, and under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Saeed, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Sector, the sector organized awareness symposiums on the dangers of addiction and drugs. The first of these symposiums was at the Faculty of Education in the presence of Dr. Essam Al-Tayeb, Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Dr. Abdel Rahman Abu Al-Majd, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Sabry Al-Ansari, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

Dr. Essam Al-Tayeb praised the efforts of the Fund for Combating and Treating Drug Addiction in educating university students about the dangers of addiction and drugs, urging students to make the most of these symposiums and fulfill their duty to transmit this information to the outside community.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Abu Al-Majd also confirmed that the Faculty of Education is keen to conduct educational and awareness programs to spread awareness of the dangers of drugs of all kinds, and to correct misconceptions within the framework of community participation.

Muhammad Al-Kamel, Director of the University’s Environmental Projects Administration, indicated that this symposium comes within a series of awareness-raising seminars that began with the Faculty of Education, then the Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, Archeology, Engineering, and Nursing.

Marwa Abdel Rady, Director of the Volunteer House of the Fund for Combating and Treating Drug Addiction, also discussed the activities of the Volunteer House, types of drugs, the role of youth in combating the drug problem and limiting its spread, as well as introducing Al-Azima Center and the services it provides via the hotline 16023.
