Awareness Seminar on “Rumors and Their Negative Impact on the Individual and Society”


       South Valley University, under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Akawy, President of the University, organized an awareness seminar entitled “Rumors and Their Negative Impact on the Individual and Society.” The seminar was delivered by Dr. Karima Kamal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication for Postgraduate Studies and Research, as part of the activities of the Central General Administration for Student Welfare.

       The lecture addressed the adverse effects of rumors on both society and the individual, strategies for dealing with them, and the importance of raising students’ awareness to limit their spread. Dr. Kamal emphasized the necessity of verifying information before circulating it and of using media platforms responsibly.

      The session witnessed significant student engagement, with participants raising questions and inquiries regarding the impact of rumors on social behaviour, as well as on the reputation of educational institutions and society at large.
