Under auspices of Prof. Dr. Abbas Mansour , the university president in
cooperation with the British Cultural Council in Cairo, South Valley
University organized a workshop on “Internationalization of Higher
Education and Universities”
Where Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Khodary, vice president of Postgraduate
confirmed that one of postgraduate sector roles is cooperation with the
cultural centers and research, as many of introductory symposiums were
held in cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and
Japanese Cultural Center in Cairo, while this workshop was held in
cooperation with British Cultural Council in Cairo for discussing the
Internationalization of Higher Education
Dr. Sahar Khamis , head of education programs in British Cultural
Council stressed that the council cooperates with numbers of Egyptian
universities in building leaders and establishing career development
centers ,where the council studies the universities’ needs and holds
partnerships in various fields
On the other hand, Mr. John Makjfern, an expert of higher education
talked about the Internationalization of Education and confirmed that
before 2000 years ago , there wasn’t attention to this conception
however, globalization and the desire of governments to get a quality in
education because of the global economy based on the universities’
knowledge , adding that there is a rating of the universities beside
several factors affect in this rating , as he confirmed that the
Internationalization process divided into two parts, the external part
includes the scholarships, programs and exchange students ,as well as
opening branches for exporting the knowledge and network for old
graduates, and the internal part includes providing suitable environment
for student , developing the courses and integrating among the
university students and foreign students.
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Sayed Taha, vice president for
community service and group of academic staff from all faculties
