South Valley University completed the design of the E-Application” Science Publishing’s Reward”.


As part of the continuous support from Prof. Dr Youssef Garabawy, President of South Valley University, for scientific research and publishing, the Post-graduate and Research Sector of the university completed the testing of the final version of the E-ApplicationScientific Publishing Reward that has designed over the past 6 months.

Prof. Dr Ahmed Akawy, Vice-President for Post-Graduate and Research Affairs, stated that this application is part of a series of electronic applications developed by the sector in the context of full digital transformation in response to the guidance of Prof. Dr Youssef Gharabawy. the application had been offered to the President of the University for approval and launch on the Sector website to be available for researchers as of tomorrow, Monday, 3 January 2022, because that was the time for receiving research according to the University’s Scientific Publishing Support List, which had previously submitted in paper form

The application works as:
§ Allow researchers to apply electronically to obtain the annual scientific publication reward offered by the university in January of each year.
§ Implementation of administrative and financial tasks automatically by the officials of the Post-graduate and research sector concerning the publication reward.
§ Providing electronic auditing of the quality of research and scientific journals concerning inclusion in global databases (WoS, Scopus), excluding predatory periodicals, verifying the electronic link of the journal, issue and volume number, (DOI digital object identifier), and others.

§ Automatic prevention of re-submission of the same research by a specific researcher or more than one researcher, whether in the same year or over successive years.
§ Automatic distribution of the publication reward to researchers from the university according to the level of the magazine (according to quarters), withholding the reward of researchers from outside the university for lack of eligibility, and preparing exchange lists in an automated manner, by linking with the human resources database to ensure that the researcher belongs to South Valley University.
§ Distributing the research submitted automatically to the auditors and receiving the audit result automatically as well.
§ Allowing researchers to follow up on their applications submitted through the application.
§ Allowing researchers to file a grievance after the result appears in an automated way.

§ Allowing entry, follow-up, and automatic approval of the applications to the President of the University, the Vice-President of Post-Graduate and Research Affairs, and the administrative apparatus of the General Administration of Post-graduate.
§ Availability of the performance indicators in an automated way related to the number of researchers, the number of the research, total amounts disbursed, and others, at the level of the academic department, college and university.

The Vice -President of Post-Graduate and Research Affairs thanked the programers of the Faculty of Computers and Information at the university, including Dr Sameh Ahmed Moustafa and Mr Ahmed Hamada for their efforts in converting the idea of application into an electronic system and their response to the amendments that have made by the Post-Graduate Sector upon the previous versions of the application, also thanked Mr Ali Moussa Director-General of Post-Graduate, Mr Ahmed Abdo, Director of Research Department, and the Director of Vice -president’s Office, Prof. Dr Badawy Mohamed, and Mr MOhamed Sayed for their efforts during the past six months, which contributed to producing the application in this honorable way, which will encourage researchers to publish scientifically, limit Waste in papers, and save effort and time through digital transformation.
