Decree no. (67) in 20/7/2007 issued to establish the Faculty of Nursing at South Valley University.
The Supreme Council of Universities in its meeting in 28/8/2006 approved to begin the study at the Faculty of Nursing ,Qena in 2007.

The Sciences which are taught in the scientific departments are nursing science - Medical Science
The period of study for bachelor degree is four years followed by years of mandatory training for successful students at the fourth year. Students may not practice nursing before they achieve a year of mandatory training successfully in the university hospitals under the supervision of the college administration.
Degree offered for students by the Faculty of Nursing is Bachelor of Science of Nursing.

preparation of alumni are able to provide a nursing ,preventive, curative and rehabilitative service match the international standards in all branches of nursing to meet the health needs for the individual, family and community , the use of scientific and global methods , all scientific developments and applications of excellent humanities science in all areas of nursing, education and research practice and development of nursing education, and the continuous education for all categories of nursing in the South Valley and the development of experiences
