The Annual Celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities at SVU

Prof. Dr. Youssef Ghrabawy, President of South Valley University, and Dr. Hazem Omar, Deputy Governor of Qena, witnessed the annual celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector and the University’s Center for People with Special Needs, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, Vice President for Postgraduate and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nassary, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Mahmoud Khodary , Former Vice President of the University, Dr. Mohamed Omran, Director of Career Development Center, Mr. Hussein Al-Baz Undersecretary of Ministry of Social Solidarity, and a group of faculties deans.

 

Dr. Ghrabawy, president of the University, appreciated the efforts of the Egyptian state in recent years of caring for people with special needs since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi launched 2018 as the year for people with special needs and what followed that of a set of legislation and laws supporting them, which had the greatest impact on placing people with special needs at the head of the Egyptian state.

 

Dr. Ghrabawy referred to the university’s efforts to support and care for people with special needs. He also explained the university’s role in establishing a center for people with special needs and the awareness programs it provides for them, as well as the role of the Career Development Center and what it has done in previous years of cooperation with the Al-Noor Association. The center provided educational and training programs and organized a job forum that helped to provide jobs for people with special needs by enrolling them in the public or private sectors.

 

By the end of the annual celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities, all participants were honoured with certificates of appreciation. The celebration was witnessed by many schools and associations concerned with people with special needs, deans, vice deans, faculty members and their assistants, and large crowd of students from different faculties.
