The university president witnesses the conclusion of the activities of the sixth military education course

    Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, witnessed the conclusion of the activities of the sixth military education course at the Faculty of Engineering, in the presence of Brigadier General Muhammad Ghoneim, Military Adviser to Qena Governorate, Dr. Noby Mahdy, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Lieutenant Colonel Ashraf Baghdady, Director of the Military Education Department at the University.

Dr. Youssef Gharbawy emphasized the university’s keenness to develop the spirit of loyalty and belonging to the homeland and to consolidate the spirit of patriotism among students, pointing to the importance of military education in the physical and psychological recovery of students to prepare for national service, in addition to developing the spirit of team which is an essential part of the preparation of future leaders.

The university president referred to the effective national role and the effort made by members of the Armed Forces to defend the homeland, and to the state’s effort to support the university in its role in providing higher education opportunities through the development of infrastructure, laboratories, support for the medical sector and university hospitals.

      In his speech, Brigadier General Muhammad Ghoneim praised the leading role of South Valley University led by Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of the University, in community service, as it is a solid scientific edifice in Upper Egypt. Pointing to the interest of the political leadership in raising students’ awareness to prepare a generation that is aware of the surrounding events and situations, and the risks facing the state and how to address them.

    For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Ashraf Baghdady referred to the fruitful cooperation between the University Administration and the Military Education Department, explaining that the sixth military education course included 700 students from various university faculties. The activities of the military education course included several lectures in several areas, including history, awareness, climate changes, the role of the state in facing challenges, such as rumors, drugs, and fourth generation wars.
