South Valley University has advanced 133 global ranks according to the Spanish Webometrics Ranking of World Universities by academic performance, January 2023 edition

 Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, announced the university’s appearance in the Spanish Webometrics Ranking of World Universities by academic performance, January 2023 edition, as it is ranked 1969th globally among 11993 international universities, 50th in Africa among 2065 universities and 18th locally among 78 Egyptian universities. Thus, the university has advanced 133 global ranks compared to the previous edition, as it was ranked 2102 globally.

  The President of the University praised the achievement that has been achieved and the university’s obtaining a distinguished global ranking. His Excellency also praised the efforts made and the steps taken to raise the research and academic level at the university with the aim of achieving a high level of excellence and regional and international leadership. He also extended sincere thanks and congratulations to all members of the University on this achievement and thanked the working group of the University’s International Classification Committee which is responsible for updating and submitting the University files to the international classification bodies. The work team includes Dr. Hamouda Muhammed, Dr. Ahmed Ismail, Eng. Hossam Harzallah, Eng. Ahmed Hassan, Mr. Badawy Muhammed and Mr. Muhammed Sayed and Eng. Ahmed Abdel Naeem.

Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research and supervisor of the University’s Classification Committee, emphasized the continuation of work, exerting more efforts and providing all capabilities for the advancement of the university and achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s vision 2030. He added that the Spanish Webometrics Ranking of World Universities is the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions issued in Spain through the Supreme Council for Scientific Research and covers more than 30,000 universities, and 11,993 universities appeared in the January 2023 document.

  For his part, Dr. Hammouda Muhammed Dardir, Chairman of the University’s International Classification Committee, stated that this ranking depends on three main indicators to measure the performance of universities, which are visibility, transparency or openness, and excellence or scholar, adding that the University is ranked 1453 in the indicator of transparency or openness, 1565 globally in the indicator of excellence, and 6431 globally in the indicator of visibility or impact.
