The University’s Council decides that passing the occupational safety and health course is considered a ground for promotion.

Prof. Dr Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, approved the formation of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee under the chairmanship of Dr El-Sughir Amran Ahmad Ali, Deputy Veterinary Medical Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr Al Tayeb Abd Al Razek Ahmed, Vice President of the Committee and Deputy of Oral and Dental Medicine Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The president of the university stated that the Committee prepared an operational plan for occupational safety and health at South Valley University, which consists of four-axis:
The first is the awareness and guidance to disseminate the concept of occupational safety and health among all different sectors of the university.
The second is evacuation, emergency plans and safety signals.
The third is hospitals and infection control.
The fourth is laboratories and university facilities.
Prof. Dr Ahmad Kamal Nasary, Vice-president of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, noted that the occupational safety and health course was approved as one of the requisite grounds for promotion to all faculty members, associates, and employees, which will begin on Wednesday, April 20
