A symposium on early detection of breast cancer at the Faculty of Commerce

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Vice President for Environmental Development and Community Service, the Faculty of Commerce at South Valley University, in cooperation with the Directorate of Health in Qena, organized an extensive symposium on the Women’s Health Initiative. 

The symposium comes within the framework of the participation of South Valley University and the Directorate of Health in implementing the presidential initiative “100 Million Seha” with the aim of educating female students within the university’s faculties about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. 

Dr. Enas Farouk, director of the Basic Care Department at the Directorate of Health in Qena and coordinator of presidential initiatives, stressed the importance of presidential initiatives that support integrated health care for the Egyptian woman, and how to benefit from them within the units in the governorate.

Dr. Shaima Nasrallah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Friends of Oncology Patients Association, taught the students how to self-examine according to the age of each girl and woman. She also reassured everyone that most of the discovered cases are benign and easy to deal with and treat whenever it is early. Stressing the need to pay attention to complementary treatment in the recovery phase and not neglect it.
