The 55th edition of the general conference of the Association of Arab Universities (AARU) kicked off in Tunisia, Saturday 18/03/2023, with the participation of Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of South Valley University, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, a number of ministers of higher education in the Arab countries, and a group of presidents of Arab universities.
Dr. Youssef Gharbawy emphasized that the conference aims to strengthen cooperation and communication between Arab universities as well as exchange scientific experiences and discuss future plans for higher education in Arab universities. Pointing out that the Minister of Higher Education, in his statement at the opening of the conference, reviewed some initiatives undertaken by the Ministry of Higher Education to address the challenges faced by higher education through modern solutions, including the establishment of electronic testing centers in all the universities, as well as the project to automate university hospitals and the project to establish 16 national universities. In addition to the establishment of 10 fourth-generation technological universities.
