Participation of the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy in the opening session of the First Scientific Conference of Qena Pharmacists

Last Thursday, the activities of the opening session of the first scientific conference organized by the Pharmacy Department of the Directorate of Health and Population were held, with the aim of raising the efficiency of pharmacy practice and raising awareness of new pharmaceutical specialties. This was in the presence of Major General Ashraf El Doudy, Governor of Qena, Hossam Hammouda, Secretary General of the Governorate, Dr. Raji Tawadros, Deputy Health Minister, Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abu Al-Wafa, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Ibrahim Youssef, Director General of the Directorate of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Al-Naqeeb, the captain of the sub-syndicate of Qena Pharmacists, and Dr. Asma Mohamed, director of the pharmacy department and head of the scientific conference, members of the Board of Directors of the Pharmacists’ Syndicate, members of the sub-syndicates in the governorates, a number of pharmacy experts specialized in the fields of the pharmaceutical labor market, a large number of pharmacists, and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The governor congratulated Qena pharmacists on organizing the first scientific conference in the field of pharmacy, indicating that this conference is consistent with the state’s directions towards the development of the medical system, the development of the performance of pharmacists, and work to acquire more practical and technical skills, especially with the introduction of clinical pharmacy in the hospitals of the governorate.

Al-Daoudy added that the conference represents an opportunity for our pharmacists to exchange experiences and benefit from the experts present at the conference, and to learn about the latest developments in pharmacology and medicine, which contributes to supplying the health care system with highly qualified pharmacists and researchers, who are able to contribute to improving health care provided to patients, especially as the pharmacist plays a prominent role in the medical system.

On the other hand, Dr. Ashraf Abu Al-Wafa explained that the field of pharmacy has undergone a significant development over the past years. Therefore, pharmaceutical workers had to organize such scientific conferences and training courses for pharmacists to familiarize them with the established pharmacy branches, especially clinical pharmacy, and therapeutic nutrition, thereby contributing to the best services for patients.

At the end of the conference session, Major General Ashraf El-Doudy presented the conference shield to Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abu El-Wafa, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, South Valley University.
