The Faculty of Education organizes a Conference on Education in Light of Crises and Disasters.

The Conference of the Education in the Light of Crises and Disasters have organized by the Faculty of Education at South Valley University, Qena branch started from 7-9 September 2021, under the patronage of:

Prof. Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Prof. Dr Tarek Shawqy, the Minister of Education.

Major General Ashraf Daowdy, Qena Governor.

Prof. Dr Youssef Gharbawy, President of south valley University.

Prof. Dr Ahmed Kamal Nasary, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. Dr Mahsoub Abdel Qader, Dean of the Education Faculty, Qena branch, and the President of the Conference.

In the presence of Prof. Dr Ahmed Akawy, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, Prof. Dr Badawy Shahat, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, deans of the faculty of arts, sciences, computer and information, heads of the departments, the faculty members and their assistants and a large crowd of students.

Prof. Dr Youssef Ghorbawy conveyed to the guests of the Conference the greetings of Prof. Dr Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr Tariq Shawqy, the Minister of Education, and Major General Ashraf Al Daowdy, Qana Governor, and he praised the fact that South Valley University was ranked 10th in the Times classification of institutions of higher education, and its progression of 9 ranks compared to the last year 2020, With the mention of the efforts of the Higher Council of Universities during the Corona Pandemic, including the amendment of article 79, which allowed students to graduate through a curriculum taught with tests based on hybrid education, the credit hours system and e-books, and also the University’s efforts, including various platforms, and noted that the University was engaged in intelligent education on the screens in different faculties of the University, which was a qualitative shift for the University in distance education.

The Coronavirus immunization campaign was also launched at the University, confirming that the university year would begin only when all the University’s beneficiaries had been vaccinated.

Prof. Dr Ahmed Kamal Nasary pointed that education in light of crises and disasters is a lifesaver and an essential pillar of protection methods for society, even in cases of stability and sustainability that preserves life, and it is the key to the survival of generations in crises

Prof. Dr Hajjaj Ghanem, Vice Dean of the faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the conference rapporteur explained that the Conference devoted sessions to students to participate, reflecting the University’s interest in participating in scientific activities.
The number of participants in the conference is 75 participants from the universities of the South Valley, Cairo, Minya and Aswan with 18 research.

The Conference’s themes reflect important aspects of education-related issues, including disasters and crises as terms in various institutions, the Quranic approach to disaster and crisis management, development of the technical and commercial secondary education in the light of contemporary educational crises, the criteria for the design of electronic activities in learning environments, the psychometric characteristics of the psychometric scale of high-school students in Kuwait, and the application of research tools against the coronavirus.
