
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, President of Qena University, the eighth annual (fifth international) conference of the Faculty of Education was launched on May 6-7, titled “Digital Green Education and Teacher Preparation: Innovative Visions for Building a Sustainable Educational Environment” The conference welcomed researchers and experts from both Egypt and abroad, aligning with the state’s goals for sustainability and digital transformation in education. Key attendees included Dr. Abbas Mansour, former President of the University, Dr. Mohmed Saeed, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Mohmed Wael, Vice President of the University for Post-Graduate and Research, Dr. Ashraf Mossa, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Essam El-Tayeb, Dean of the College and President of the Conference, Dr. Mohamed Sabry El-Ansari, Vice President of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and Vice President of the Conference Dr. Mohmed El-Sayed, Director of the Adult Education Center at the university and conference rapporteur, along with Mr. Abdel Razek Hussein, Assistant Secretary of the University, Mr. Tariq Saad El-Din, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Qena, education leaders in Qena, current and former college leaders, deputies, department heads, faculty members, and various university officials. In his speech, Dr. Mohamed Saeed, representing Dr. Akkawy, highlighted the university’s commitment to green education and digital initiatives that enhance governance and institutional performance and achieve sustainability. He pointed out that the conference represents a high-level scientific platform for exchanging experiences and formulating modern visions that contribute to preparing a teacher capable of employing technology and equipped with environmental awareness, in line with the requirements of comprehensive development.
Dr. Mansor praised the university’s development efforts and appreciated the importance of the conference in supporting contemporary education issues and enhancing the university’s role in serving society, while Dr. Wael emphasized the conference’s relevance to Egypt’s Vision 2030 in digital transformation and teacher preparation programs to keep pace with the rapid changes in the educational environment globally.
Dr. Mossa expressed pride in the Faculty of Education’s role in developing educational leaders capable of leading development within the educational system. Dr. Essam El-Tayeb, the conference president, noted the need for integrating environmental and digital aspects into teacher preparation. Dr. Mohmed Sabry Al-Ansari highlighted the focus on sustainability and the use of digital tools in education. The conference included a Green Education Exhibition and a documentary on the college’s development, as well as presenting shields of honor and exchanging souvenirs.
