Scientific Cooperation between South Valley University and The Euro-Mediterranean University in Slovenia


Dr. Youssef Ghrabawy, President of The University, met today with Dr. Nada Trunk from the Euro-Mediterranean University – Slovenia at the university, within the framework of the activities of the “Internationalization at Home” project, with the presence of Dr. Abbas Mansour, the former university president, and Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research affairs And Dr. Mahmoud Sayed Abdel-Sadek, project coordinator and director of the European Union Projects Unit at the university.

It is worth mentioning that the project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme in cooperation with Heliopolis University in Cairo and Euro-Mediterranean University – Slovenia and under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education.

Dr. Ghrabawy indicated that the meeting comes within the framework of the university’s continuous endeavor to strengthen its relations with the international community, establish partnerships with the international universities and institutions, and to discuss the latest developments of the project and various ways of cooperation in the coming period in other projects to support the educational and research process at the university.

Dr. Mahmoud Sayed Abdel-Sadek, pointed out that the project is the internationalization of universities in the Mediterranean countries and depends on establishing training programs in quality, strategic planning, international classification, scientific publishing and programs that help to internationalize the universities participating in the project.

Arab universities from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan and Lebanon, and European universities from Slovenia, France and Italy are participating in the project.

Dr. Nada Trunk invited the university’s president, Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, to attend the Euro-Mediterranean University conference in Slovenia, which is supposed to be held next September in Slovenia, and will discuss various ways of cooperation and the follow-up mechanism for the implementation of the project.
