
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Akkawy, President of Qena University, attended a meeting of the Human Rights Committee of parliament, led by Representative Tariq Radwan, alongside several university leaders. The discussion focused on universities’ role in promoting human rights as part of Egypt’s National Human Rights Strategy. Dr. Akkawy emphasized Qena University’s commitment to promoting human rights and citizenship values among students, highlighting ongoing initiatives to embed this culture in practical programs on campus to support sustainable development. He explained that the university’s human rights unit promotes equality and tolerance, addresses complaints, provides support, conducts training, and prepares reports on the university’s human rights situation. In closing, he expressed gratitude to the House of Representatives for their invitation.
