President of South Valley University Meets The Participants in Mawaddah Program.


Prof. Dr. Youssef Gharbawy, President of the University, met with a group of teaching staff participating in training students from various faculties for Mawaddah program during the period from 17/5 to 15/6/2021, with the presence of prof. Dr. Badawy Shahat, Vice President for Educational and Student Affairs. The meeting discussed a review on the importance of the presidential initiative to rehabilitate young Egyptians who are about to marry of both sexes and prepare them to start a successful marriage life.

Dr. Gharbawy, expressed his appreciation for the role played by the participants in Mawaddah program, stressing that the role of the faculty member does not stop at the educational process only, but extends to his participation in serving the community surrounding the university.

Dr. Badawy Shahat, discussed the axes of the initiative, its content and the main aspects of the project, and talked about the components of the program, which are:

  • The health component, includes reproductive health and medical examination before marriage
  • The religious component, includes the legal rights and duties of the spouses
  • The social component, includes bearing the responsibility, participation and positive communication.

The program targets young people in the age group of 18 – 25 years. The number of trained students reached a total of 3181 male and female students from various faculties of the university.
